Zucchini Carrot Cocoa Muffins

I am always looking for breakfast ideas that I can easily take and eat at work. I like to make egg cups now and again (I will share my recipe soon) but sometimes I need a change. I love muffins but eating baked goods every morning is not the healthiest option, unless you bake them yourself and add a healthy spin to things. Most muffins recipes call for a lot of processed sugar or they don’t taste very good. Continue reading Zucchini Carrot Cocoa Muffins

Happy New Year

Happy New Year friends! I have not been writing new posts since before Christmas because I wanted to take some time and recharge my batteries and spend some time with my family. But, today I wanted to sit down and write a post wishing you all a happy new year because you, my followers, readers and supporters are a big part of what made my 2016 so amazing! I spend my new years eve celebrating my dads 60th birthday! It was so much fun! Family is very important to me but I find it hard to set aside a large amount of time to just be with them. Yesterday though, I was able to do just that. We spent the entire day together and then I got to spend the night with my boyfriend and our pup, it was truly an amazing day. Today, I plan on spending my day relaxing with my boys, in my pjs in front of the fire, watching movies. My favorite kind of day!   Continue reading Happy New Year

So, here is what I am bringing with me, hopefully it will inspire some ideas the next time you are headed on a beach vacation. Continue reading What I Am bringing to Mexico

Gut: The Inside Story of Our Bodies Most Underrated Organ Book Review

I finished reading Gut by Giulia Enders some time ago and have been trying to write this review ever since, with great difficulty. Writing book reviews are defiantly not my favorite thing to write but they usually flow out of my fingers with some ease. Well, not with this review. While reading the book I remember thinking to myself at times how much I was enjoying it. Enders was the perfect kind of witty for my taste and I found myself giggling more than a few times and she made some excellent points. Living with a disease

Living with a chronic disease can be very frustrating and defeating at times. I try and live my life as normal as I can and pretend that living with Mastocytosis does not affect me. But, the truth is it does. I have dedicated a lot of time, energy and money to trying to get my health under control. I have changed my diet, lifestyle and everything else. I have added supplements (and I mean a ton of supplements) sought the help of a naturopath and acupuncturist and a team of medical doctors and still I struggle more often than I think I should or usually care to admit.
